Objective To investigate the current situation and epidemiological characteristics of pre-hospital care for elderly patients in Chongqing from 2019 to 2021.Methods All pre-hospital care data of middle-aged and elderly patients in the dispatch information system of Chongqing Emergency Command Center from 2019 to 2021 were collected for analyzing its current situation and epidemiology.Results Eligible 34,882 elderly patients underwent pre-hospital care were include in this study,of which the largest number of patients were 60 to 70 years old from 2019 to 2021,followed by patients aged 81 and above,accounting for40.39%and34.66%,respectively.The incidence of emergency in2021 was the largest proportion(all above 40%).Male elderly patients underwent pre-hospital care were more than female in different years and age groups.The incidence of emergency department visit of internal medicine diseases had a large proportion,followed by trauma diseases,accounting for more than 30%and 20%,respectively.The incidence seasons of emergency were December-February(winter)and June-August(summer),both of which accounting for more than 10%.May and February were the lowest and highest months for pre-hospital care,respectively,and the proportion of the highest month was more than 2 times that of the lowest month.The numbers of emergency call in the morning were more than those in the afternoon.The peak number of calls was 08∶00-10∶00,followed by 06∶00-08∶00,and 00∶00-02∶00,accounting for 11.77%,9.99%and 5.32%,respectively.Conclusion Chongqing should pay attention to the problem of population aging,conduct real-time health management,dispatch and command according to seasonal distribution,monthly distribution and daily peak time distribution,arrange pre-hospital emergency work,optimize the allocation of emergency equipment and emergency personnel,and focus on training on-site treatment of medical diseases,trauma and other emergencies,so as to improve the treatment rate.
