Effect of continuous interventions based on a multidisciplinary teamwork on functional rehabilitation and quality of life in postoperative patients with spinal tumors
Objective To analyze the effect of continuous interventions based on a multidisciplinary teamwork on functional rehabilitation and quality of life of postoperative patients with spinal tumors. Methods A total of 92 postoperative patients with spinal tumors treated in Beijing Tiantan Hospital from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected by convenient sampling method. They were randomly assigned into the control group and observation group, with 46 cases per group.Routine extended care, and continuous interventions based on a multidisciplinary teamwork were applied to the control group and observation group, respectively. The functional rehabilitation effect, physical rehabilitation level, stigma and quality of life of the two groups were compared after 3 months of interventions. Results After nursing, the excellent and good rate of functional rehabilitation was significantly higher in the observation group than that of control group(65.22%vs 43.48%,P<0.05).Patients in the observation group had significantly lower Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG)([1.41±0.13]points vs[1.71±0.15]points)and Changhai Pain Rating Scale([3.38±1.19]points vs[4.01±1.27]points)than those of the control group(both P<0.05).In the observation group, the Stigma Scale for Chronic Illnesses(SSCI)scores were significantly lower than those of the control group([84.20±7.45]points vs[91.48±7.91]points,P<0.05).In the observation group, the 36-Item Short Form Survey(SF-36)scores were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of continuous interventions based on a multidisciplinary teamwork to postoperative patients with spinal tumors can achieve remarkable results, which can not only improve the functional rehabilitation effect and physical rehabilitation, but also reduce the stigma and promote the further improvement of quality of life.
