Objective To analyze the pension service needs based on stratified by self-care ability and its influencing factors in rural areas.Methods A total of 1,061 disabled elderly who came from 32 rural areas of Xinjiang Province(Urumqi City,Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture,Shihezi City,and Tacheng District)were included the study,they were surveyed for general information,Barthel Index(BI)and Elderly Care Service Needs Questionnaire.Results Based on stratified by self-care ability,the dimensions scores varied among 1,061 rural elderly people.The respective score of medical care services,daily life care,and spiritual comfort services was(4.22±0.76)points,(3.8±0.72)points and(2.86±0.54)points.The degree of disability,suffering from chronic diseases,and personal monthly income were important influencing factors on pension service needs in rural disabled elderly.Conclusion The pension service needs in rural disabled elderly is at a high level,especially in severely disabled elderly,with a particular focus on health care and daily life care.A great emphasis on pension service needs should be given those elderly with economic difficulties,multiple chronic diseases and high degree of disability,aiming to provide more comprehensive pension supply for rural elderly people.
