Objective To investigate the effect of solution-focused nursing mode on respiratory function, sleep quality and symptom improvement in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods A total of 90 COPD patients admitted to our hospital from Jan 2020 to May 2022 were recruited and randomly divided into two groups.Patients in the control group received routine nursing, and patients in the observation group received solution-focused nursing. The clinical effects of the two groups were compared. Results After intervention, the improvement duration of each symptom in the observation group, including asthmatic dyspnea(2.51±0.87)d,cough(4.11±1.02)d and lung rales time(4.65±1.32)d,were significantly shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).After six months of discharge, the scores of treatment compliance including exercise(82.33±2.31),lifestyle change(85.18±2.24),diet(88.25±2.42)and taking medicine(90.59±2.74)in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in R5 and R20 values before intervention between groups(P>0.05).After intervention, the values of R5(0.39±0.06)kPa·L-1·s-1 and R20(0.23±0.03)kPa·L-1·s-1 in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)score between groups before intervention(P>0.05).After intervention, the score of the observation group(9.31±1.05)was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Solution-focused nursing mode can better control the clinical symptoms of COPD patients, improve their respiratory function and sleep quality, which is worthy of clinical promotion and reference.
