Effect of transitional care interventions for pulmonary rehabilitation of patients with severe respiratory failure:Based on multidisciplinary teamwork
Objective To explore the effect of transitional care interventions based on multidisciplinary teamwork for pulmonary rehabilitation of patients with severe respiratory failure(SRF).Methods Two hundred SRF patients treated in our hospital from January 2020 to April 2022 were enrolled and randomly assigned into observation group(n=100)and control group(n=100).All patients were managed by routine intervention during the transition period of patients leaving intensive care unit(ICU),and those in observation group additionally received transitional care interventions based on multidisciplinary teamwork.Pulmonary function, quality of life, incidence of complications and disease improvement were evaluated between groups. Results After intervention, patients in the observation group presented significantly higher forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV1),peak expiratory flow rate(PEF)and ratio of FEV1 to forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC),significantly lower the score of three dimensions in the St George's Respiratory Questionnaire(SGRQ)and the total incidence of complications, and significantly shorter duration of mechanical ventilation, duration of ICU and hospitalization time than those of control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion For SRF patients, transitional care interventions based on multidisciplinary teamwork can effectively improve pulmonary function and quality of life, reduce the incidence of complications, thereby promoting rapid recovery of patients.
