Efficacy and mechanism of Suhuang Zhike Capsules combined with cetirizine hydrochloride tablets on postinfectious cough
Objective To explore the efficacy and mechanism of Suhuang Zhike capsules combined with cetirizine hydrochloride tablets on postinfectious cough.Methods A total of 90 patients with postinfectious cough from October 2020 to February 2022 were enrolled.Patients were randomly assigned into group A(Suhuang Zhike Capsules,n=30),group B(cetirizine hydrochloride tablets,n=30)and group C(Suhuang Zhike Capsules plus cetirizine hydrochloride tablets,n=30).The treatment outcomes were analyzed among three groups.Results There were no significant differences in the total score of cough symptom,Visual Analog Scale(VAS)score for cough symptom,and fractional exhaled nitric oxide(FeNO)level among three groups before treatment(P＞0.05).The total score of cough symptom and VAS score of cough in group C were significantly better than those of group A and group B(P＜0.05).There were no significant differences in the total score of cough symptom and VAS score for cough symptom between group A and group B after treatment(P＞0.05).FeNO level after treatment in group C was significantly better than that of group A and group B(P＜0.05),which was comparable between group A and group B(P＞0.05).The effective rate in group C was significantly higher than that in group A and B(P＜0.05),which was comparable between group A and group B(P＞0.05).In groups A,B and C,forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1)/forced vital capacity(FVC)was significantly lower after treatment than that before treatment(P＜0.05),which was comparable among the three groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion For patients with postinfectious cough,Suhuang Zhike Capsules combined with cetirizine hydrochloride tablets can effectively improve patients'cough symptoms,and enhance the effective rate of treatment,with a definite clinical value.
