Effects of acceptance and commitment therapy on psychological stress reaction,coping style and psychological flexibility in family members of patients with ischemic stroke underwent intracranial stenting
Objective To investigate the effects of acceptance and commitment therapy on psychological stress reaction,coping style and psychological flexibility in family members of patients with ischemic stroke(IS)underwent intracranial stenting.Methods A total of 120 family members of patients with IS underwent intracranial stenting in our hospital from December 2019 to December 2020 were enrolled,and the family members were randomly assigned into observation group(n=60)and control group(n=60).All family members were managed by routine nursing intervention,and those in observation group additionally received acceptance and commitment therapy intervention.The scores of the second version of the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire(AAQ-Ⅱ),Sensory Responsiveness Questionnaire(SRQ),Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ)before and after the intervention were compared between the two groups.Results significantly decreased SRQ(emotion,body,behavior and comprehensive reaction)scores,significantly increased MCMQ(yielding,facing and avoiding)scores,significantly decreased AAQ-Ⅱ scores were found in the two groups(all P<0.05),and the observation group was superior to the control group for SRQ,MCMQ and AAQ-Ⅱ scores(P<0.05).Conclusion For family members of patients with IS underwent intracranial stenting,acceptance and commitment therapy can effectively improve psychological flexibility,reduce psychological stress reaction,and improve positive coping style.
