Effects of endoscopic assisted vaginal douching with different concentrations of benzalkonium chloride solution on vaginal microecology in patients with gynecological benign tumors
Objective To examine the effects on the endoscopic assisted vaginal douching with different concentrations of benzalkonium chloride solution in determining the best concentration of benzalkonium chloride for vaginal douching, thus, providing theoretical support for clinical nursing work. Methods Ninety patients hospitalized in our hospital with benign tumor and vaginal flora density between Ⅲ and Ⅵ were selected and randomly divided into three trial groups, which were treated with different concentrations benzalkonium chloride for vaginal douching.Trial group 1,trial group 2 and trial group 3 were treated with 0.02%,0.035% and 0.05% benzalkonium chloride, respectively. The bacterial density and pH values of the vaginal secretions were examined hour 0 and hours 24 of douching, and the interclass and intergroup difference were assessed. Results The interclass differences in densities of vaginal flora between hour 0 and hours 24 of douching were statistical significance(P<0.05),whereas,the intergroup differences in density of vaginal flora between hour 0 and hours 24 of douching were not statistical significance(P>0.05).The interclass differences in vaginal pH values between hour 0 and hours 24 of douching were not statistical significance(P>0.05),and there was no statistically significant difference in vaginal pH values between hour 0 and hours 24 of douching in patients with between 3.8-4.5 vaginal pH values of three groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Vaginal douching can reduce the density of vaginal flora,it not only has a effect on vaginal pH value, but also improve a vaginal microecological environment. There were no differences in the effects of different concentrations of benzalkonium chloride solution on the density and pH of vaginal flora.Benzalkonium chloride is a safe, less irritating disinfectant.
