Objective To explore the effect of health education intervention based on the PDCA(plan-do-check-act)model combined with ABC(level A is the most prioritized goal, level B is the more important goal, and level C is the less important goal)management for patients with chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods Totally 82 CHF patients admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to April 2022 were enrolled and randomly assigned into control group(n=41)and observation group(n=41),in which they received routine health education intervention and health education intervention based on the PDCA model combined with ABC management,respectively.Self-management ability, quality of life, satisfaction and nurse-patient trust relationship were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the four dimension scores of self-management ability questionnaire(SMAQ)including diet management(13.02±1.63 points vs 11.89±1.89 points),drug management(16.39±1.81 points vs 14.28±1.91 points),symptom management(16.59±1.92 vs 14.57±1.76),psychological and social adaptation(17.50±1.75 vs 14.78±1.68)were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the four dimension scores of 36-item short-form health survey questionnaire(SF-36)including psychological function(73.22±5.13 points vs 62.33±5.17 points),physical function(72.25±5.09 points vs 61.25±5.09 points),material function(77.31±5.25 points vs 63.31±5.26 points),life function(78.16±5.17 points vs 65.27±5.18 points)were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).The satisfaction scores increased notably in the observation group compared with the control group(91.36±4.22 points vs 63.53±4.13 points,P<0.05).The nurse-patient trust relationship score was significantly increased in the observation group relevant to the control group(42.89±3.17 points vs 39.12±3.27 points,P<0.05).Conclusion For CHF patients, health education intervention based on the PDCA model combined with ABC management can improve self-management ability and quality of life, and enhance satisfaction and nurse-patient trust relationship.
