Objective To establish a nursing decision support system for radiotherapy-/chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis,and to explore its effect in clinical application.Methods According to the Chinese Standard of Prevention and Nursing of Oral Mucositis Associated with Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy,a knowledge database for the management of radiotherapy-/chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis was constructed,and the association rules and human-computer interface were established.A nursing decision support system for radiotherapy-/chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis was formulated and applied.A total of 1,641 patients who received chemotherapy/radiotherapy for head and neck tumors in the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy of the First Affiliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University in September 2021 and April 2022(832 patients in September 2021 before the system was applied,and 809 patients in April 2022 after the system was applied)and 106 clinical nurses in the same period were selected as the study objects.The risk screening rate of radiotherapy-/chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis,accuracy rate of risk grade prediction,implementation rate of oral mucositis reassessment and nurses'satisfaction with nursing work were compared before and after the application of the system.Results After the application of the system,the risk screening rate of radiotherapy-/chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis,accuracy of risk grade prediction and the implementation rate of radiotherapy-/chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis reassessment were significantly higher than those before its application(P＜0.05).After the application of the system,the total score of nurses'satisfaction with nursing work and the dimensions of standard implementation,system quality,nursing writing quality,nursing work efficiency and personal sense of value were significantly higher than those before its application(P＜0.05).Conclusion The nursing decision support system for radiotherapy-/chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis can provide objective and accurate decision basis to nurses,improve nurses'prevention ability of radiotherapy-/chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis,enhance nursing efficiency,and promote the standardization of management of radiotherapy-/chemotherapy-induced oral mucositis.Clinical nurses have a high satisfaction,and it is worthy of clinical promotion and use.
