Application effect of nursing care for high-risk falls in neurology department based on the"safety-support-cooperation"model
Objective To explore the application effect of nursing care for high-risk falls in neurology department based on the"safety-support-cooperation"model.Methods A total of 200 patients treated in the Department of Neurology of the Second People's Hospital of Qinzhou from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected. They were randomly divided into control group(n=100)and observation group(n=100).Routine nursing care was applied to all patients, and nursing care for high-risk falls based on the"safety-support-cooperation"model was additionally applied to patients of the observation group. The self-management ability for fall prevention and the risk of fall were assessed using the self-management behavior for fall prevention questionnaire and the Morse Fall Scale, respectively,Nursing satisfaction was evaluated using the Newcastle Satisfaction with Nursing Scale. The incidence of fall was recorded. Results There were no significant differences in the self-management behavior and the risk of fall before nursing between the two groups(P>0.05).The scores of the self-management behavior for fall prevention questionnaire after nursing in both groups were significantly higher than those before nursing, and the risk of fall was significantly lower in both groups, which were more pronounced in the observation group than those of control group(P<0.05).The incidence of fall was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05),whereas,the nursing satisfaction was significantly higher in the observation group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of the nursing care for high-risk fall in neurology department based on the"safety-support-cooperation"model can effectively improve patients'self-management ability of fall prevention, reduce the risk and incidence of fall, and improve patients'nursing satisfaction.
