Effect of vitreous cavity injection combined with whole retinal laser photocoagulation on best corrected visual acuity and retinal hemodynamics in patients with diabetic retinopathy
Objective To investigate the effects of vitreous cavity injection combined with whole retinal laser photocoagulation on best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)and retinal hemodynamics in patients with diabetic retinopathy. Methods A total of 80 patients with diabetic retinopathy in our hospital were randomly divided into control group(n=40,50 eyes)and experimental group(n=40,50 eyes). All patients were treated with whole retinal laser photocoagulation, and those in the experimental group were additionally treated with vitreous cavity injection. The effect was compared between groups. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the BCVA between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the BCVA of the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in blood flow in central retinal artery between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, significantly lower resistive index(RI),and significantly higher end-diastolic velocity(EDV)and peak systolic velocity(PSV)in the experimental group were detected relative to the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in macular retinal thickness between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the macular retinal thickness was significantly lower in the experimental group than that in the control group(P<0.05).There were 4(10%)cases of complications(including 2 cases of bleeding and 2 cases of infection)in the control group and 1(2.5%)case of infection complication in the experimental group, the complication rate of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The satisfaction of the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group(97.5%vs 87.5%,P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of vitreous cavity injection and whole retinal laser photocoagulation in treating patients with diabetic retinopathy has a significant effect. It can improve BCVA and retinal hemodynamics, reduce macular retinal thickness, reduce complications, and improve patient's satisfaction. It is suitable for clinical use.
