Correlation of serum lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1 and miR-1231 with postoperative recurrence, metastasis and long-term prognosis of gastric cancer after radical surgery
Objective To investigate the correlation of serum long non-coding RNA α/β hydrolase domain 11 antisense RNA 1(lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1)and microRNA-1231(miR-1231)with the recurrence, metastasis and long-term prognosis of gastric cancer after radical surgery. Methods From July 2018 to July 2020,147 patients who underwent radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer in our hospital were regarded as the observation subjects(gastric cancer group).According to the presence or absence of recurrence and metastasis, patients were divided into recurrence/metastasis group(n=48)and non-recurrence/metastasis group(n=99).According to the outcome of 3-year prognosis, they were divided into survival group(n=40)and death group(n=107).Meanwhile,132 healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations in our hospital were regarded as the control group.Serum lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1 and miR-1231 levels were detected by Quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).Pearson method was applied to analyze the correlation between serum lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1 and miR-1231.Logistic regression was applied to analyze the factors affecting postoperative recurrence/metastasis of gastric cancer after radical surgery. Results Compared with those of the control group, patients in the gastric cancer group had significantly higher serum lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1 and lower miR-1231 levels(P<0.05).Serum lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1 was negatively correlated with serum miR-1231 in gastric cancer patients(r=-0.691,P<0.05).The proportions of patients with tumor diameter>5cm,tumor-node-metastasis(TNM)staging Ⅲ+Ⅳ,low differentiation, infiltration depth T3+T4,lymph node metastasis, and the expression level of lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1 in the recurrence/metastasis group were significantly higher than those of the non-recurrence/metastasis group, while the expression level of miR-1231 was significantly(P<0.05).Tumor diameter, invasion depth, and lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1 were independent risk factors for recurrence/metastasis of gastric cancer after radical surgery, while miR-1231 was a protective factor(P<0.05).The expression level of lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1 in the death group was significantly higher than that of the survival group, while the level of miR-1231 was significantly lower(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum lncRNAs ABHD11-AS1 in gastric cancer patients increases, while serum miR-1231 decreases, which are closely related to postoperative recurrence/metastasis,and long-term prognosis of gastric cancer. They may serve as markers for postoperative recurrence, metastasis, and long-term prognosis of gastric cancer.
