Objective To explore the effect of detailed intervention on adverse emotions and quality of life in patients with iodine-131 treatment after thyroid cancer surgery. Methods A total of 150 patients with iodine-131 treatment after thyroid cancer surgery in the our hospital from January to December 2022 were enrolled. They were randomly assigned to receive either routine intervention(control group,n=75)or routine intervention+detailed intervention(observation group,n=75).The cognitive degree of iodine-131 treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions, the incidence of accidental contamination of radioactive drugs, the adverse emotions and the quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results After intervention, the cognitive score of iodine-131 treatment in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions(nausea, vomiting, swollen and pain of the salivary glands, neck swelling and stomach discomfort)in the observation group was significantly lower compared with the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of accidental spill contamination, vomiting contamination, bedding and clothing contamination and excretion contamination in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)in the observation group were significantly lower relevant to the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, the 36-item Short Form Health Survey(SF-36)score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with iodine-131 treatment after thyroid cancer surgery, detailed intervention can improve patients'cognitive level of iodine-131 treatment, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, reduce accidental contamination of radioactive drugs, improve psychological status, and enhance the quality of life.
