Combination of enteral nutrition and refinement strategy in ICU patients with respiratory failure
Objective To study the application of enteral nutrition combined with refinement strategy in intensive care unit(ICU)patients with respiratory failure. Methods One hundred ICU patients with respiratory failure who went to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from January 2019 to July 2020 were divided into the conventional group(50 cases)and the combination group(50 cases)by grab-lottery method. All patients received refined strategy intervention, and those in the combination subjects additionally received enteral nutrition. The changes in Nutric score and the Nutritional Risk Score 2002(NRS 2002)score,blood gas index, nutritional index, tidal volume(VT),minute ventilation(MV),breathing work(WOB),and lung compliance were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with those of the conventional group, the Nutric score,NRS 2002 score, and arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)level were significantly lower in the combined group(P<0.05).Arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),albumin(ALB),prealbumin(PA),hemoglobin(Hb),transferrin(TF),tidal volume(VT),minute ventilation(MV),breathing work(WOB),and lung compliance were significantly improved, the survival rate was significantly higher, and the mortality rate was significantly lower(P<0.05).Conclusion The intervention of enteral nutrition and refined strategy can significantly improve the nutritional status of patients, and with a ideal result.
