Clinical study of vestibular rehabilitation training on the comorbidity of moderate to severe persistent postural-perceptual dizziness and chronic atrophic gastritis
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of vestibular rehabilitation training(VRT)via analyzing the clinical characteristics of patients pooled advanced persistent postural-perceptual dizziness(PPPD)and chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG),thus providing a basis for clinical treatment. Methods This was a prospective study invovling 81 patients pooled advanced PPPD and CAG admitted to Tangshan Central Hospital from December 2019 to June 2020.They were randomly assigned into routine treatment group(n=40)and VRT group(n=41).All patients were managed by duloxetine combined with Fuzheng Xiaowei Decoction, and those in VRT group were additionally given VRT and extended care.Dizziness Handicap Inventory(DHI),Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS),Beck Depression Inventory(BDI),State-Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI),Niigata PPPD Questionnaire(NPQ)were employed to comprehensively evaluate the severity of PPPD clinical symptoms and depression and anxiety in patients. The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptom score for clinical manifestations of CAG was applied, and the Treatment Compliance Questionnaire was conducted. Results There were no statistically significant differences in the scores of dizziness disability,PPPD,depression and anxiety,TCM symptom and treatment compliance at week 1 of treatment between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, all scores of the two groups decreased significantly(P<0.05),which in VRT group were more pronounced than the routine treatment group(P<0.05).Conclusion In summary, for patients pooled advanced PPPD and CAG,VRT should be used as auxiliary treatment on the basis of basic medication, and extended care should be used to strengthen auxiliary treatment depending on the personal situation. The effect of this method can be promoted in clinical nursing.
