Influence of conductive education combined with family participation on children with cerebral palsy
Objective To study the influence of conductive education combined with family participatory nursing on functional independence and parental coping styles in children with cerebral palsy. Methods A total of 86 children with cerebral palsy treated from January 2022 to July 2023 were randomly assigned into observation group(n=43,conductive education combined with family participatory nursing plus routine rehabilitation intervention)and control group(n=43,routine rehabilitation intervention)by adopting the random number table method. The functional independence assessed by the Functional Independence Measure for Children(WeeFIM),fine motor function assessed by the Fine Motor Function Measure for Children with Cerebral Palsy(FMFM),intelligence level assessed by the Infant Adaptive Development Quotient(DQ)in Gesell Development Scale and parental coping styles assessed by the Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ)were compared. Results After 3 months of intervention, the WeeFIM scores in both groups significantly increased, which were significantly higher in the observation group than those of control group(P<0.05).After 3 months of intervention, the score of parental confrontation in both groups significantly increased, which was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).After 3 months of intervention, the scores of avoidance and yielding of parents in both groups significantly decreased, which were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).After 3 months of intervention,FMFM scores in both groups significantly increased, which were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).After 3 months of intervention, the DQ grade in both groups significantly increased, which was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Conductive education combined with family participatory nursing can significantly improve the functional independence and parental coping styles in children with cerebral palsy, and enhance the fine motor function and intelligence level.
