Impact of multi-dimensional continuous intervention model on the rehabilitation of urinary incontinence in prostate cancer patients after radical prostatectomy
Objective To explore the impact of a multi-dimensional continuous intervention model on the rehabilitation of urinary incontinence in prostate cancer patients after radical prostatectomy. Methods A total of 120 postoperative prostate cancer patients with urinary incontinence who were treated at Shanghai Changzheng Hospital from August 2021 to August 2023 were selected. They were randomly assigned into the control group(conventional intervention)and observation group(multi-dimensional continuous intervention plus conventional intervention)using a random number table method, with 60 cases in each group.A continuous intervention lasted for 3 months. The daily frequency of urinary incontinence, severity of urinary incontinence,self-management ability, and quality of life were compared between two groups. Results After 3 months of intervention, patients in the observation group had significantly lower frequency of daily urinary incontinence and the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Urinary Incontinence Short Form(ICIQ-UI SF)score, but higher Adult Health Self-Management Skill Assessment Scale(AHSMSRS)and the Incontinence Quality of Life(I-QOL)scores than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The multi-dimensional continuous intervention model can reduce the daily frequency of urinary incontinence in prostate cancer patients after radical surgery, reduce the severity of urinary incontinence, and improve the self-management ability and quality of life.
