Objective To explore the effects of nicorandil on hemorheology, exercise tolerance, and cardiac function after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)for coronary heart disease. Methods A total of 98 cases of coronary heart disease admitted from October 2022 to September 2023 for PCI were selected. They were randomly divided into the control group(49 cases)and observation group(49 cases).Patients in the control and observation groups received postoperative aspirin and clopidogrel, while those in the observation group received additional treatment with nicorandil.Changes in blood rheology, vascular endothelial function, exercise tolerance, and cardiac function between the two groups before and after treatment were compared.Follow-up was conducted for 3 months, and the quality of life between the two groups was compared. Results After treatment, both groups showed decreases in plasma viscosity, whole blood viscosity shear rate, and fibrinogen, which were more significantly pronounced in the observation group than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, serum levels of endothelin-1(ET-1)and vascular hematoma factor(vWF)decreased and nitric oxide(NO)increased in both groups, which were more significantly pronounced in the observation group than the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, both groups showed increases in exercise tolerance and 6-min walking distance(6MWT),and decreased scores of the Borg Rating of Perceived Exertion, which were more significantly pronounced in the observation group(P<0.05).After treatment, the left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV)and left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV)decreased and the left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)increased in both groups, which were more significantly pronounced in the observation group(P<0.05).The quality of life in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Nicorandil treatment for patients with coronary heart disease after PCI can significantly improve hemorheology, enhance exercise endurance, improve heart function, and enhance quality of life.
