A clinical study on the promotion of rehabilitation and quality of life in elderly patients with chronic heart failure through the caregiver participated extended period management combined with individualized rehabilitation exercise programs
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of caregiver participated extended period management combined with individualized rehabilitation exercise programs on promoting rehabilitation and quality of life in elderly patients with chronic heart failure. Methods A total of 200 elderly patients with chronic heart failure admitted to our hospital from July 2022 to November 2023 were randomly divided into two groups, with 100 cases in each group. The control group received routine intervention, while the observation group received a combination of caregiver participated extended period management and individualized rehabilitation exercise program for intervention. The clinical indicators, cardiac function indicators, exercise ability,self-management ability, and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results Compared with the control group, patients in the observation group had significantly shorter duration of restoring normal heart function and electrocardiogram indicators, and shorter length of stay(P<0.05).Heart function indicators in both groups were significantly improved after intervention, and more superior in the observation group(P<0.05).The 6-min walking distance(6MWD),the Adult Health Self-Management Self-Rating Scale(AHSMSRS)scores, and the 36-Item Short-Form Survey(SF-36)score were significantly improved after intervention, and more superior in the observation group(allP<0.05).Conclusion Intervention of elderly patients with chronic heart failure using caregiver participated extended period management combined with individualized rehabilitation exercise programs can improve their clinical indicators, heart function and motor ability, enhance their self-management ability and quality of life, and promote their recovery.
