Objective To investigate the effect of refined characteristic discharge education on postoperative complications of parastomal hernia.Methods A total of 100 patients with parastomal hernia repair admitted to Department of Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery,Beijing Chao-yang Hospital(Shijingshan Hospital)from September 2020 to September 2022 were selected as the study objects,and they were randomly divided into observation group and control group by random number table method.Patients in the control group received routine discharge education,and those in the observation group received refined characteristic discharge education.The occurrence of postoperative complications in the follow-up period after discharge,self-care ability,quality of life and nursing satisfaction were compared between groups.Results After 6 months of follow-up,the incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(8.00%vs 22.00%,P<0.05).After 6 months of discharge,the self-care ability score of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05).The quality of life score of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group at 6 months after discharge(P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(94.00%vs 76.00%,P<0.05).Conclusion Refined characteristic discharge education can improve the self-care ability of patients after discharge,reduce the occurrence of complications,and improve their quality of life,which is a more recognized education program for patients and worthy of clinical promotion.
