Study on the correlation of serum NF-κB,TIMP-1,and IL-8 with Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis in pediatric patients
Objective To analyze the correlation of serum nuclear factor-KB(NF-κB),matrix metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1),and interleukin-8(IL-8)with Helicobacter pylori(HP)-associated gastritis in pediatric patients.Methods A total of 60 children with HP-associated gastritis treated in our hospital from July 2021 to July 2023 were selected as the observation group,and another 60 healthy children from the physical examination center of our hospital during the same period were selected as the healthy group.Serum NF-κB,TIMP-1 and IL-8 levels were detected and compared between the two groups.Their levels in children of the observation group with varying inflammatory activities were compared before and after treatment.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to analyze the diagnostic efficacy of serum NF-κB,TIMP-1 and IL-8 HP-associated gastritis in pediatric patients.Results Serum levels of NF-κB,TIMP-1 and IL-8 in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the healthy group(P<0.05).Serum NF-κB,TIMP-1 and IL-8 levels in severe group were significantly higher than those of moderate group and mild group(P<0.05).Serum NF-κB,TIMP-1 and IL-8 levels in moderate group were significantly higher than those of mild group(P<0.05).Serum levels of NF-κB,TIMP-1 and IL-8 after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).The area under the curve(AUC)of the combined detection of serum NF-κB,TIMP-1 and IL-8 in the diagnosis of H.pylori-associated gastritis in pediatric patients was 0.904,and the 95%confidence interval(CI)was 0.856 to 0.951.The sensitivity(94.82%)and specificity(90.13%)of combined detection were significantly higher than those of a single detection([73.82%,71.62%];[72.26%,68.18%];[70.18%,64.74%],P<0.05).Conclusion Serum NF-κB,TIMP-1 and IL-8 are abnormally high in children with HP infection-associated gastritis.Their levels are closely related to inflammatory activity and therapeutic effect.A combined detection can improve the diagnostic efficiency of H.pylori-associated gastritis in pediatric patients,and it is worth learning.
