Evaluation of the effectiveness of multi-dimensional case management plan on alleviating adverse reaction symptoms in patients with malignant tumors treated with chemotherapy
Objective To study the clinical effect of a multi-dimensional case management plan on alleviating adverse reaction symptoms in patients with malignant tumors treated with chemotherapy. Methods A total of 142 patients with malignant tumors who received chemotherapy in our hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were included as the study subjects. They were randomly assigned into the observation group and control group using the number table method, with 71 patients in each group.Patients in the control group were intervened by a routine management, while those in the observation group were intervened by a multi-dimensional case management plan.Gastrointestinal symptoms, fatigue, sleep quality, psychological status, and quality of life of two groups were compared. Results The rates of gastrointestinal reaction and insomnia in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),After the intervention, the scores of physical strength and fatigue in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Before the intervention, there were no significant differences in the levels of hemoglobin, albumin, and prealbumin between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the levels of the above indicators in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Their scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).The quality of life score in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion A multidimensional case management can reduce the incidence of adverse reactions in patients with malignant tumors treated with chemotherapy, alleviate fatigue symptoms, improve nutritional status and quality of life, and correct negative emotions.
