Effects of Sowing Date on the Growth and Nutritional Quality of Agropyron Gaertn.in Eastern Hebei Province
New Agropyron Gaertn.variety AZ1513 was sowed on October 6th,October 13th,October 20th,October 27th,November 3rd,and November 9th at the farm of Hebei Normal University of Science & Tech-nology in the autumn of 2020,and the agronomic traits(number of tillers, plant height and yield)and nutri-tional quality(crude protein, crude fat, crude ash, neutral and acid detergent fiber content)of Agropyron Gaertn.were comprehensively evaluated in 2021 with analysis of variance and grey correlation analysis to de-termine the effects of sowing date during autumn on the growth and nutritional quality of Agropyron Gaertn.in eastern Hebei province. The result showed that sowing date had a significant impact on the agronomic traits and nutritional quality of Agropyron Gaertn. The tiller number, plant height, dry hay yield and seed yield of the plant sowed on October 13th were the best. The delay of sowing date reduced the accumulation of crude protein and crude fat,and increased the content of ash, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber. The grey correlation analysis showed that the correlation and weighted correlation of the fourth sowing date were the best, followed by the third sowing date, the second sowing date, the sixth sowing date, the first sowing date, and the fifth sowing date. The yield and nutritional quality of Agropyron Gaertn.sowed in the middle or late October in eastern Hebei province were the best.
