Comparison of Metallogenic Conditions for Sandstone-type Uranium Deposits between Ordos Basin and Sichuan Basin
In order to study the mineralization conditions of sandstone type uranium deposits and further expand their exploration work, the uranium metallogenic conditions of the two sandstone-type uranium deposits are com-pared systematically by summarizing the main ore-controlling factors of the northern Ordos basin and the southern Sichuan basin. It is pointed out that they have similarities in basin type, scale and distribution characteristics, uranium source, basin evolution history and genetic type of deposit, but there are obvious differences in tectonic activity,ore-controlling sedimentary system and paleoclimate evolution.Through systematic comparative analysis,it can be seen that the Sichuan basin has good uranium metallogenic conditions and great metallogenic potential. It is an important base to achieve the breakthrough of sandstone-type uranium prospecting in the continental basin in southern China, and also provides a reference direction for the further research on metallogenic theory and law concerning on the different ore-controlling factors in the future.
