Geological Characteristics and Genesis of the Baishihuashan Lithium Deposit in Yifeng County,Jiangxi Province
The Baishihuashan lithium deposit is a newly discovered super-large granite-type lithium deposit in Yifeng area. The estimated amount of Li2O resources of the deposit exceeds one million tons, with an average grade of 0.39%.To research wall rock alteration and explore the genesis of the deposit, field geological investiga-tions were conducted, followed by petrographic observations and Li2O content analysis. The results indicate that the mineralized rock of the mass of Baishihuashan lithium deposit is muscovite(monzonitic)granite. The altera-tion closely related to mineralization are albitization and muscovite(lithium). The wall rock alteration of the de-posit has obvious zonation.Horizontally from southwest to northeast,it can be divided into three alteration miner-alization zones:strong, medium and weak albite lepidolite muscovite(monzonitic)granite.Vertically from top to bottom,it can also be divided into the above mentioned three alteration mineralization zones. The deposit is formed by the gradual enrichment of rare metals such as Li due to the high differentiation and evolution of magma. The post-magmatic hydrothermal alteration resulted in the enrichment of Li in light-colored mica at the top, edges, and outer contact zones of the granite.
