Population Distribution of Helicoverpa armigera in Different Geographical Regions of Hebei Province
With the gradual reduction of cotton planting area in the Yellow River basin, the role of Bt cotton as a'trap'for Helicoverpa armigera is gradually weaked. In order to clarify the population distribution characteris-tics of H.armigera in Hebei Province after adjusting the planting structure of various crops in different geographi-cal regions, the number of adult H.armigera on a variety of crops from south to north of Hebei was monitored by using the sex pheromone trapping technique from May to September in 2018-2019.The results showed that:(1)there were large population of H.armigera in Hebei, and they were widely distributed in various host crop fields. There were four peaks of adult H.armigera in cotton field in southern Hebei, and the number of adult H.armigera was more than 100 per trap in the peak, and the highest was 272.67 per trap.(2)The population number of H.armigera decreased gradually from south to north, and the highest population were 272.67,118.00 and 94.50 per trap,respectively.(3)In addition to cotton field,H.armigera should also be paid more attention to in peanut, corn and grape orchards. The results of this study clarified the population quantity and dynamic distribution of H.armigera in different geographical regions under the new planting structure in Hebei Province, which can pro-vide theoretical basis for regional control of H.armigera under different crop layout in North China.
