Screening of High Phenolic Acid Salt Resistant Lonicera japonica Thunb.Varieties Based on HPLC Fingerprint
In order to screen for Lonicera japonica Thunb.varieties with high phenolic acid content and salt tolerance,17 varieties were collected from different locations in Hebei,Shandong, and Henan, and transplant-ed to saline soil(NaCl content of 0.1%)at the experimental base of Institute of Coastal Agriculture of Hebei Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences for cultivation and reproduction. After 14 days of salt stress, branches were taken for testing the phenolic acid content.A combination of high-performance liquid chromatog-raphy(HPLC)and fingerprint comprehensive quality evaluation was used to screen varieties with high phenolic acid content. The results showed that different L.japonica varieties had 12 common characteristic chromato graphic peaks, among which the contents of chlorogenic acid, isochlorogenic acid A,isochlorogenic acid C,and luteolin were higher. There were significant differences in the content of phenolic acids among different vari-eties,among which the mutant plant had the highest content of chlorogenic acid(15.7 mg/g)and total phenolic acid(20.35 mg/g),followed by Gujunhong(Green Leaf)(chlorogenic acid content was 11.87 mg/g and total phenolic acid content was 17.05 mg/g),both of which had significantly higher values than other varieties.Mutant plant and Gujunhong(Green Leaf)are the varieties selected in this experiment that are suitable for promotion and planting in saline alkali land.
