Impact of Rural Tourism on Increasing Farmers'Income
Rural tourism is an important measure for the implementation of China's rural revitalization strategy.It is a new model for promoting high-quality development in rural areas of our country.Based on 514 field survey data from Chongli District of Zhangjiakou,the impact of rural tourism on increasing farmers'income and the influencing factors of changes in farmers'income before and after rural tourism development were analyzed using a double difference model and a solid-state effect model,respectively.The results showed that:(1)Af-ter the development of rural tourism projects,the income of farmers in the participating group(participating in tourism projects)and the control group(not participating in tourism projects)increased to varying degrees,with the income of farmers in the participating group increasing more than that in the control group.Transfer income had the greatest impact on the total income of participating farmers,while wage income had the greatest impact on the total income of control farmers.Rural tourism projects had a significant positive impact on the total in-come(Y),wage income(Y1),and property income(Y3)of farmers at the 0.01,0.01,and 0.05 levels,re-spectively.(2)Age,educational level,cultivated land area,and years of rural tourism had a significant posi-tive impact on the total income of farmers at the 0.1,0.1,0.01,and 0.01 levels,respectively(Y).The cul-tural level and years of experience in rural tourism are significantly positive for farmers'wage income(Y1)at the 0.1 and 0.01 levels,respectively.Cultural level and cultivated land area had a significant positive impact on farmers'property income(Y3)at the 0.1 and 0.01 levels,respectively.The countermeasures and suggestions to encourage farmers to actively partici-pate in rural tourism projects,create a relaxed employment environment,and extend the rural tourism industry chain were proposed.
