摘要
中国现代著名哲学家金岳霖在其英文论作Tao Nature and Man(《道、自然与人》)中提出了自己的境界论思想,用的是"Vista".在金岳霖境界论中,境界是由人所理解的事物对于自己的意味(significance)构成的,分为朴素(naive)、英雄(heroic)、圣人(sage)三种境界.朴素境界是"自我和他人的二分以及实在的二分(实在的二分即人和自然的二分)都被降到了最低限度"的境界;英雄境界是"实在的二分化几乎达到最大限度"的境界,有人类中心主义和自我中心主义英雄境界两种形式;圣人境界是人经过"高度的沉思和冥想"达到的人与自然合一或天人合一境界.金岳霖旨在通过对境界问题的探讨,引导人超越英雄境界,确立圣人境界的理想追求.
Abstract
In Tao Nature and Man,the famous modern Chinese philosopher Jin Yuelinput forward his idea of realm theory,using"Vista".The realm is constituted by the significance of the things,which is divided into three realms:naive,heroic and sage.The naive"Vista"is one in which the dichotomy of reality as well as the of self and others is reduced to a minimum.The heroic"Vista"is one in which the dichotomy of reality is almost at a maximum.The sagely"Vista"is a realm of the unification of nature and man.Jin Yuelin's aim is to guide people togo beyond the heroic"Vista"and pursue the sagely"Vista".
