Abstract
As a milestone novel by Virginia Woolf,"Between the Scenes"presents us with a complex and multidi-mensional literary world through its profound symbolism and unique narrative strategy.This novel is set in a rural community in England,and by focusing on the life and inner changes of a group of characters before and after the theatrical performance,it reveals human nature,identity,and the profound relationship between humans,nature,and society.This article attempts to provide a deep interpretation of"Between the Scenes"from the perspective of symbolism.Through a detailed analysis of the symbolic elements,themes,and narrative techniques in the work,it is found that Woolf cleverly employs symbolism techniques to endow various objects,scenes,and character relation-ships with rich metaphorical meanings.These symbolic elements not only enhance the artistic expression of the work,but also deeply explore the confusion of human inner world,identity,and the complex interaction between humans,society,and nature.
