Substitution or Creation:The Employment Effect of Data Element of Circulation Enterprises
Employment is not only the ballast stone of social stability,but also a barometer of economic development.Based on the data of 802 lis-ted circulation enterprises from 2012 to 2021,this paper explores the employment effect of the data element of circulation enterprises from two dimen-sions:employment scale and employment structure.The results show that:Data element can significantly expand the employment scale and improve the employment structure of circulation enterprises,and the conclusion is through a series of endogenous and robustness tests.Data element can in-crease the scale of employment by reducing the level of information asymmetry and activating the activity of entrepreneurship and employment,and can improve the employment structure by improving the efficiency of factor-output and promoting digital technology innovation.Data element can increase the employment scale of middle-and low-income disparity circulation enterprises in pyramid,spindle and pushpin structures,but have no significant impact on the employment scale and employment structure of high-internal income gap circulation enterprises in the pushpin struc-ture.In addition,data element will simultaneously expand and improve the employment scale and employment structure of productive,capital-in-tensive and technology-intensive enterprise circulation enterprises,increase the employment scale of high-end circulation enterprises,improve the employment structure of non-high-end and living circulation enterprises,but improve the employment structure of labor-intensive circulation enterprises and crowd out workers with low human capital.The effect of data element on the improvement of employment scale and employment struc-ture has a tendency of diminishing marginal benefits.
