An Empirical Study on the Impact of Business Environment on Foreign Direct Investment in Yangtze River Delta
Based on the panel data of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from 2010 to 2020,this paper constructs the total index of business environment and four sub-environmental indicators, namely market environment, innovation environment, government environment and public environment and measures the index weight by using the entropy weight method.Through the test of spatial econometric model selection, this paper uses the Spatial Durbin Model(SDM)with time fixed effect to explore the impact of business environment and its sub-environment on foreign investment. The results show that the business environment will significantly promote the inflow of foreign capital.Among them, the market environment and government environment in the sub-environment will have a significant positive spatial spillover effect on foreign direct investment.Innovation environment and public environment will have a weak negative spatial impact on foreign direct investment.Based on the findings,it is proposed that the Yangtze River Delta region should continue to strive to improve the level of regional business environment, further optimize the sub-environment of business environment, and the regional government should adopt corresponding strategies and multi-faceted considerations to assist regional FDI inflows.
