Deconstructionism has provided a powerful ideological impetus for André Lefevere.In terms of research paradigm,Lefevere breaks the shackles of traditional linguistic research paradigm,and moves away from prescriptive research to descriptive research,revealing the vivid cultural landscape of translation studies.In terms of research object,Lefevere breaks through the constraint of the notion"upholding original as the center",and examines translations and other forms of"rewriting"in the target language culture,broadening the scope of translation studies.In terms of research focus,Lefevere challenges the concept of equivalence which has been holding sway for a long time,surpassing the specific translation process to highlight the shaping force of translations under social tensions in target culture.By so doing,Lefevere does well on the way of the cultural approach to translation studies,and promotes the development of the"cultural turn"in translation studies steadily ahead.However,he also runs the risk of deviating from the ontology of research,making translation studies increasingly broader,ignoring the textual purpose of translation.
