中国当代文学在英语世界传播效果的考察与启示——以张翎的《劳燕》为例

摘要
华人作家张翎的小说《劳燕》在海外出版不足一年旋即荣登亚马逊畅销榜单前三并广受读者好评.以读者评论为切入点,采用数据挖掘和文本分析等方法考察《劳燕》在英语世界的传播效果,并总结其经验,能为新型全球化时代背景下中国当代文学海外影响力的提升带来启示.研究发现,《劳燕》的海外读者最为关注的三大维度分别为小说的故事情节、叙事手法和翻译质量.因此,未来中国当代文学海外出版与传播应更加注重以故事情节为本、以叙事手法为纲、以翻译出版为要.
Abstract
A Single Swallow,written by Zhang Ling,a writer of Chinese origin,has been ranked third in Amazon's"Best Sellers in Chinese Literature"within one year of its publication.Starting with reader comments,this paper investigates the dissemination effect of A Single Swallow in the English-speaking world by the methods of data mining and text analysis,and finds that it can bring enlightenment to the promotion of overseas influence of Chinese contemporary literature in the new era of globalization.This paper concludes that the three dimensions overseas readers show the greatest concern over are plot,narrative techniques and translation quality of the novel.Therefore,the overseas publishing and communication of Chinese contemporary literature in the future should take the story plot as the base,the narrative technique as the key,and the translation and publication as the aim.
