A Study on the Driving Effect of Foreign Direct Investment on Digital Transformation of Enterprises
Foreign direct investment is beneficial to the healthy and sustainable development of our economy,and meets the requirements of economic development under the new normal.Foreign direct investment has a huge promotion and impact on the digital transformation of domestic enterprises.Based on theory,this paper studies the impact of foreign direct investment on the digital transformation of domestic enterprises by selecting panel data of Chinese provinces from 2007 to 2020.The results go as the following:FDI has an obvious driving effect on the digital transformation of domestic enterprises,but there is regional variability;the impact of FDI on enterprise digital transformation is not significant in the more developed eastern and central parts of the country,while the impact of FDI on enterprise digital transformation in the western part of the country,where the economy is more backward,is very significant.Therefore,the government and all walks of life should continue to let FDI become a continuous driving force to guide the digital transformation and upgrading of enterprises and improve the policy mechanism of"digitalization"strategy in each region;the government should give corresponding policy support to international enterprise investment and vigorously cultivate talents and backbones of digitalization reforms,so as to promote the process of digital transformation of Chinese enterprises.
