The Dual Dimensional Mechanism of Gender Differences in Chinese Interruption
Interruption speech act has been one of the core topics in pragmatics.Researchers have advanced two analytical mechanisms of gender differences:single dimensional analytical view and dual-dimensional analytical view. The present study recruited Chinese native speakers to perform judgment tasks to verify the pragmatic mechanisms of gender differences in interruption process. The results show that there are inconsistent identification and evaluation effects on the dual dimensional perspectives from the interrupter's gender and the subject's gender, and the judgment rate supports the use of dual-dimensional views rather than one-dimensional view.
