Sino-Soviet Cooperation in Dramatic Art in the Siberian Region
Sino-Soviet cooperation in the field of drama history is the import field of cultural exchanges between the two countries.This article,taking the Siberian region of the Soviet Union as an example,makes a study on historical materials involving various journals and magazines from the Russian Archives Foundation.Chinese and Russian people's understanding of each other's art began in the Tsarist Russia and the late Qing Dynasty.After the 1917 revolution,the two nations began to strengthen exchanges in the field of dramatic arts.This trend took the lead in the Far East and Northeast regions of the(Soviet Union)and the capital cities of the two countries.Siberia occupies an important cross-border geographical position in Sino-Russian relations,and the processes indirectly have a profound impact on the region.After the founding of the People's Republic of China,Sino-Soviet cooperation in the field of dramatic arts developed rapidly.Soviet theaters began to rehearse many plays with Chinese themes,and troupes of the two countries began to tour.Chinese workers in Siberia spread Chinese art to the local population through amateur performances.In the 1950s,the centers of artistic cooperation between the two sides were Novosibirsk and Irkutsk.In the 1960s,cultural and artistic exchanges were suspended until the normalization of Sino-Soviet relations in the 1980s,when exchanges and cooperation in the field of drama were revived.
