Discourse Analysis of Network Language Based on Modality System——A Case Study of Emotional Network Discourse in Weibo
Taking modality system as the theoretical framework,this paper,by using quantitative and qualitative methods,makes an analysis of the ecological discourse of modal discourse and the interpersonal meaning realized by the modal system in the emotive network discourse of Sina Weibo.Netizens tend to use potential and inclination instead of obligation modality to express intentions;in the meanwhile,they tend to use the low-value modal words to express their feelings and opinions for the sake of not offending the audience.In this way,the speaker's point of view can be easily accepted.
