A Brief Analysis of Homoglyph Splitting from the Perspective of Chinese Character Library
Homographs,also known as"heterogeneous characters",are one of the important inter-character relationships in the study of Chinese characters.It is an important method to study homoglyphs by starting with the shape and referring to the character theory.This paper uses the Chinese character database to study the configuration and splitting of 70 groups of homoglyphs in CJK extended A area.Firstly,the reasons for the research on homoglyph splitting are clarified:research value,theoretical basis and splitting tools.Secondly,a four-step process of initial judgment of homoglyphs,traceability of conception,splitting according to reason,and splitting and labeling was formulated.Finally,the types of homoglyphs were compared and summarized,and the main sources and causes of homoglyphs were analyzed through statistical data.The aim of this study is to provide a scientific and feasible method for the study of homoglyphs through homoglyph splitting and statistical analysis.
