A Study on the Characteristics of Natsume Soseki's Comic Style Image Shaping in I Am a Cat
Growing up during the turbulent period of the Meiji Restoration,Natsumi Soseki receives good modern education.After experiencing the desolate scene of Japanese society,the hypocritical and pedantic intellectual community,and the despicable upper class,Natsume Soseki expresses his indignation through his work I Am a Cat.This work unfolds the narrative from the perspective of a cat,exposing various drawbacks in Japanese society through exaggerated,comic style character descriptions and humorous satirical language.This study analyzes the comic style image creation and rhetorical devices in the works from an unusual cat's eye perspective.Through the observation and gaze of cats towards the world,as well as the vivid scenes brought by rich satirical language,Natsume Soseki can experience the trivialities of intellectuals during the Meiji Restoration period in Japan,and explore the joys and sorrows in his heart.
