T his paper examines the exceptional phonetic characters Shu(淑),Yong(咏、泳)and Ji(纪)and their relationship with the phonetic notes or homophonic characters Shu(叔),Yong(永)and Ji(记),and finds that there is a homology relationship between such phonetic characters and phonetic notes,with the same meaning,similar pronunciation,and interoperability.Therefore,it can be speculated that this kind of exceptional phonetic changes are caused by phonetic notes.
