Evaluating Green Economic Efficiency and its Influencing Factors in Fujian Province
Based on the panel data from nine cities in Fujian province from 2011 to 2019,the study utilizes the entropy method to analyze the resource inputs and environmental pollution outputs of both the entire province and each individual city. The study,by employing the super-efficient SBM model and based on undesired outputs and the ML index, measures the economic efficiency of Fujian province and its cities, along with its decomposition factors. The study aims to reveal the spatial-temporal patterns and evolutionary characteristics, and, using Tobit regression analysis,to explore the influencing factors that affect green economic efficiency in Fujian. The study findings go as follows:From 2011 to 2019,the overall resource inputs in Fujian province have increased year by year, while the environmental pollution outputs have remained relatively stable; Both Fujian province and its cities exhibit a"U"-shaped pattern in the variation of green economic efficiency, with an initial decline followed by improvement; Most cities have achieved effective levels of green economic efficiency, and the average green economic efficiency of the province is expected to reach an effective level around 2025;The regional economic development level, industrial structure, and degree of government intervention are significant factors influencing the spatial-temporal pattern evolution of green economic efficiency in Fujian.Based on these findings, recommendations are proposed for promoting the improvement of green economic efficiency in Fujian.
