Rail steel must adhere to very rigorous hydrogen content requirements, and this composition is crucial to the railway safely running.By regulating the moisture in raw materials, alloys, and resistant materials during the typical steelmaking process, the hydrogen content in steel can be decreased to a certain level, but there is still a certain gap with the railway standards.By studying the hydrogen content changes under different vacuum time during RH refining and the hydrogen content changes in continuous casting bloom under various isothermal cooling, the ideal vacuum treatment time and gradual isothermal cooling procedure are established. While taking into account the production cost, the hydrogen content in rail steel can fully meets the requirements of railway standards, and the online service quality of heavy rail and the safe operation of trains can be ensured.
