ANALYSIS AND IMPROVEMENT OF EDGE CRACKING IN COLD ROLLING HIGH-GRADE NON-ORIENTED SILICON STEEL
In response to the problem of cracks in the cold-rolled edges of high-grade non-oriented silicon steel, the microstructure and crack morphology of the steel strip edges were analyzed using detection equipment such as metallographic microscope and scanning electron microscope. The results showed that due to poor quality of the edge and high normalization temperature, the grain size of the strip edges was too large, resulting in cracks in the cold-rolled steel strip edges.By opti-mizing the normalization process, controlling the grain size after normalization, and adjusting the shear process parameters, the problems of edge cracks and strip breaks in high-grade non oriented silicon steel during cold rolling have been reduced.
