In Su Wen·Ci Nue,the symptoms and the acupuncture treatment of twelve sorts of malaria diseases were discussed,which in-clude malaria of the Six Foot Meridians,malaria of the Five Zang and Stomach malaria.There is only Stomach malaria in the Six Fu.Zhang Jiebin said as follows:"In the Six Fu,only Stomach malaria was mentioned since Stomach is the premier among the Six Fu."The correct interpretation of the sentence"Stomach malaria causing other diseases"("胃疟者,令人且病也")is related to the understand-ing of Stomach malaria and the in-depth study on it.The Chinese character of"且"in the phrase was written as"疸"in Huang Di Nei Jing·Tai Su and it was written as"旦"in Qian Jin Yao Fang.There have been controversial ideas in definition and interpretation of this character.Today,the medical literature on bamboo and silk script can be the supplementing evidence,this character should be"旦"but not"且"."旦"is the Synonyms for"疸"here and means"fever disease".In this case,we can have a more accurate under-standing of"Stomach malaria"mentioned in Huang Di Nei Jing·Su Wen,which is unlike the malaria of the Foot Yangming,which be-gins with feeling cold.Actually,"Stomach malaria"is characterized by"fever syndrome".Based on this,the relationship between Stom-ach malaria and the fever epidemic can be further studied.
