Dyslipidemia is one of the main causes of coronary atherosclerotic thrombosis,and dyslipidemia can activate platelet aggrega-tion and adhesion.Lowering blood lipid concentration and inhibiting platelet aggregation and activation are the main treatments for coro-nary atherosclerotic heart disease(CAHD).A variety of traditional Chinese medicines(TCM)monomers and combinations,such as Sanqi(Notoginseng),Shaji(Sea buckthorn),Huangqi(Astragalus),Xiangsha Liujunzi Decoction,Xionggui Liujunzi Decoction,and Gualou Xiebai Banxia Decoction,can inhibit platelet aggregation,lower the blood lipid level of the patients,and improve the ischemic and hypoxic state of the myocardium in the treatment of CAHD,with remarkable efficacy,and they have the advantages of wide sources,high safety,and multiple effective targets.However,at present,the understanding of coronary atherosclerotic plaque still remains on the surface,and the mechanism before the appearance of atherosclerotic symptoms and the cause of plaque rupture have not yet been clari-fied.Future studies need to further explore the mechanism of action of Chinese medicine in lowering blood lipids for the treatment of coronary atherosclerotic thrombosis,and at the same time,non-invasive techniques can be used to measure the disease activity in a-symptomatic patients,to gain a deeper understanding of the phenotypes of thrombus structure,to optimize antithrombotic therapy,and to provide a new way of thinking for the prevention and treatment of CAHD by traditional Chinese medicine.
