On Competence Development in the Context of Trans-formative Science
Global challenges require the scientific community to define its role between established standards and innovative approaches and practices.Based on a career development program at the Co-logne University of Applied Sciences,what this entails for the competence development of early career scientists is discussed.Based on theories of trans-formative learning,our approach is described and transparent initial assumptions are made.Such is put up for discussion as scientists can be supported through joint empowerment in safe enough spaces to reflect on their relationship to the system,emanci-pate themselves from conventions and responsibly co-shape the transformation of the scientific system.
