On the Contribution of Universitiey Scientific Research Transformation to Social Innovation
Universities conduct research on topics that are of essential importance for overcoming so-cial challenges.To overcome them,not only technical but also social innovations are needed.But too often,innovative ideas do not find their way into practical application.One reason for this is that not all relevant actors of the regional innovation ecosystems are involved in the research projects.The arti-cle sheds light on the emergence of social innovations at universities.Insights into the project reality at universities are given,steps are shown to produce more social innovations from universities in the fu-ture and it is discussed whether this form of innovation is interesting and relevant,especially for uni-versities of applied sciences.
