Multi-path and Model Construction of Design Embedded in Undergraduate Engineering Education—An Exploratory Multi-case Study Based on Content Analysis Method
Design is the core of engineering education.Embedding design into undergraduate engineering education system is an important way to cultivate excellent engineers. This study takes 8 typical cases of undergraduate engineering education at home and abroad as the research objects, and uses content analysis method to extract multiple paths of design embedded in undergraduate engineering education from five dimensions of training objectives, curriculum implementation, teaching operation, academic evaluation and supporting conditions. There are three types of paths:project-type embedding, modular embedding and systematic embedding.Based on the realistic situation of undergraduate engineering education, the three different levels of implementation approaches are integrated, and an integrated practice pattern of design embedded in undergraduate engineering education is attempted to constructed to provide reference for the reform of undergraduate engineering education and the training of outstanding engineers in our country.
